DR. TOM LONSDALE, Part II
S2. E9. RISING VET COSTS EXPLAINED! Explaining why vet prices are rising to unfathomable amounts and how the cause affects us all - pets, pet parents, and vets alike! Dr. Tom Lonsdale , “The Whistleblower Vet”, returns to us to blow the whistle and help me e xplain why vet costs are rising to unfathomable amounts and how the cause affects us all - pets, pet parents, and vets alike! He is a Veterinarian with over 50-years of experience in the field. Dr. Tom and I are exposing and explaining the little known fact that Mega-Corporations and Private Equity firms are buying up independently owned vet clinics/hospitals and other pet industry entities. The result of this… is increased pet health-care costs driven by corporate profit targets; compromised quality of care that is putting our pets in harms way; and added pressure on Veterinarians to meet revenue targets and push services - leading to severe moral distress, burnout, and emotional trauma for all clinic staff. This effects us all! I walk you through the vertical control hold MegaCorp and Private Equity firm has on the healthspan and lifespan of your pet (and how pet parents unknowingly feed into the system!); and I breakdown which MegaCorp/Private Equity firm owns what! You'll hear Dr. Tom's perspective, another Vet's perspective who worked at a private practice turned Private Equity owned, and a pet parent's heart-breaking view and how the Private Equity/MegaCorp takeover affected their lives and ultimately took the life of their beloved dachshund Pluto. Knowledge is power, we hear this all the time, yet it truly is. Let us all do something powerful and positive with this knowledge.
