About Elvie's Inn
Elvie's Inn is Covina's oldest bar. The story starts in 1957, when the original owner opened a liquor store on Shoppers Lane and named it after his wife, Elvie. A year later he turned it into a bar, and Elvie's Inn has been pouring ever since. The bar has passed through several owners, including Tony, who ran it before Aaron Sharma bought it on June 12, 2012. The Sharma family had been regulars for years. In 2023 his daughter Usha Cervantes and her husband Albert bought Elvie's to keep it in the family, going from customers to helping run it to owning it. It's a proud neighborhood dive bar: pool, darts, a jukebox, friendly bartenders, regulars who know your name, and a room where you can walk in alone and leave with a new friend. The week has something every night: Monday karaoke with Steven Williamson of A Mobile Party, free pool on Tuesdays, Bingo with Bloss on Wednesdays, Throwback Thursday drink specials, DJ Killah Noez on Fridays and DJ Rek-1 on Sundays, plus NFL and Dodgers games and weekly drink specials. There's no kitchen, but outside food is always welcome, so grab something from one of the restaurants on Shoppers Lane, and Good F'N Burger is parked outside Friday through Sunday evenings. Elvie's also takes the bar on the road. It holds a California liquor license with catering privileges, so it can bring the alcohol, professional bartenders and a portable bar to weddings, birthday parties, corporate events and private celebrations, subject to licensing requirements. "Elvie's has never just been about the drinks. It's about the people, the friendships, and the memories made here. We're simply the current caretakers of a little piece of Covina history." Usha Cervantes, co-owner
“Elvie's has never just been about the drinks. It's about the people, the friendships, and the memories made here. We're simply the current caretakers of a little piece of Covina history. We want to honor the people who came before us while making sure there's an Elvie's for the generations who come after us.”
Usha Cervantes, co-owner
