I am Brooke Masters, one of the coaches here. And today I wanted to talk about when you feel like you are working so hard and you still feel stuck. Almost like that treadmill. Like you're pushing and pushing and pushing, but going nowhere. like you can feel all the effects. And I hear this from a lot of women with their health and their weight loss, like they're so busy doing all of the things. But just because you're doing all of the things doesn't mean that it's actually productive for you and your body, right? So for instance, most women that are doing all of the things, they're working out five to six days a week, they're hitting their 10,000 steps, cutting out the carbs, intermittent fasting, all the supplements, you know, the newest workouts, tracking, but yet they still feel like the scale isn't. Budging and their body isn't changing. And the first thing we think is, what is wrong with me and why is why is nothing working? But the problem is that without knowing what your body needs, sometimes that can be counterproductive. And I explain to people, if if you especially if you've been dieting for a very long time, your body adapts and figures out how to survive on those low calories. You start doing cardio, your body adapts and figures out how to become more efficient. So it's really having a plan. you know, almost like if you have somewhere to go and you're just driving, you're doing the things, but without using the GPS, without having that specific direction of the specific place you want to go and taking into account all of the things like traffic, roads that are closed, things like that. Two people that are driving at the same time might get to two totally different destinations without having that guidance. So the goal isn't always to push harder, do more. It's learning what strategy needs to be in place in order to get me from point A to point B. Because immediately when things don't work, you may think I need to cut calories more. I need to do more cardio. I need to be stricter with my discipline. But sometimes your body may actually need more recovery. You may need to build more muscle. You may be chronically undereating. Or maybe every weekend when you are eating those free meals, you're actually wiping out a deficit that you've created Monday through Friday. Sleep. Stress, these are all things that can absolutely halt progress. And when you start doing all of the things, the next phase is well, I'm doing all of the things, and nothing's working. And if you keep doing that, then you automatically think to yourself, I can't do something, I can't stick to things. I can't because when you're not getting results, it's really hard to stay on plan when you're not seeing the result of your actions and your discipline. So a lot of times it's really hard to stay motivated when nothing's changing. But if you had someone to look at the situation and to give you a strategy that said, hey, let's try a diet break, right? So when you're in a deficit for a long period of time, I explain to women, it's like When you're working and you're working seven days a week and 12 hour days, eventually, without a day off, you feel burnt and you're like, I'm leaving this job, I'm not doing this anymore. And your body's the same way. When you push it and push it and push it, and you don't give it the balance of a recovery, sometimes systems slow down. So using things like a refeed, where you give your body a little bit extra carbohydrates to trigger that metabolism, to start. That thyroid moving again, which is your metabolism, maybe giving a diet break where you allow your body to come back up to your maintenance calories for a little bit, give it a little bit of rest and relaxation, that week off from work or weekends off. So that way when it goes back in, now it's ready. Now it's been revived and ready to go back in. So you will start seeing more results from that fat loss phase. But, you know, a lot of times people will just quit and they think, I just can't do it. My body's just not working. But many times it's not learning what your body needs and understanding what's happening in the body. I've had women come to me that were very insulin resistant. And meaning it's not that the carbs were bad. It's they were really stressed out for a long period of time. Life was lifing. Or they were in a deficit for a long period of time. Your body thinks there's a famine. It doesn't realize you're Trying to lose 10 pounds to get in that dress. So when you keep doing the things that are stressing your body, the same outcome. The body takes it as a stress. Your body reacts to stress like that fight or flight. There is a bear chasing you. Quick, here's some glucose, so you can run from the bear. The problem is, is these stressors keep happening. Life keeps lifing. You keep getting all of this glucose in your system. But you're not running from your kids or your husband or your job. You might want to, but because you're not, but yet the repercussions of all of these physiological processes create the same outcome. And your body doesn't know how to utilize that glucose, so it's gonna dump into your system. So when you're going to work out, lose body fat, you first have to burn through all of that. So understanding how to reset. How to create that insulin sensitivity, how to balance those blood sugars again so that way your body gets back to being more efficient how it's supposed to. Learning how to control your reactions to the stress, learning how to adjust your food based on what is happening on your body is a skill. It's a skill to learn. It is the reason that you have someone to guide you. I always tell people. Every occupation, you once you are in it and you learn how to do it, you go through an orientation, you develop the skills, and then eventually you are an expert. If you've been at a job for 20 years, I spoke to someone today, she's a pilot. If you threw me in an airplane, I'm not gonna know how to do it. Just like she doesn't know how to do macros right now. But over time, the skill can be learned like anything else. But When you think of your nutrition, this is the skill that is required to maintain health, let alone body composition. We want to feel confident. We want to set an example for our kids. We want to be healthy in a healthy body. But priorities, if you don't have your health, nothing else matters. You can have the best job making all kinds of crazy money, but if you're not healthy, you can't enjoy it. So switching to understanding the priority of health, if I am not, if I don't have the skill set, maybe I need to hire somebody to teach me the skill set of what works with my body. And not just working with my body like, hey, what caloric deficit, but what happens when I'm out of my routine? What happens when the holidays come? What happens when X, Y, Z? So Learning that people tend to say, well, I can't stay consistent. No, you just haven't learned the skill of how to do that just yet. Because many of us that have learned the skill can make it through the holidays or make it through a vacation and know how much we need to manipulate in order to still enjoy food. We still enjoy a slice of pizza. We don't go out and have a whole Pizza by ourselves, but we have dinners out on the weekends. We go on vacation. But the difference is learning how do we eat the majority of the time so that when we have things that are off plan, we are able to maintain the vessel and our health so we can continue. And when we get back, we jump right back and we get back on plan. And Having that clear plan means where do I want to go? What needs to happen for me to get there? How do I know if it's working? What do we change? All of those are skill sets. Those are just not like throwing spaghetti against the cabinet and saying, hey, is it sticking? When it comes to your health, you want to learn because this is powerful. This is learning how to go into a fat loss phase. When to come out of the fat loss phase, when my body needs recovery, what like everybody's throwing supplements, but if you don't have the foundations, creating those are most impactful and can actually see a huge shift. I have someone that just started that in one month, she didn't track anything. We just created some awareness over the areas that she needed to address and just her being mindful, making small adjustments. She was able to fit in pants she hasn't fit in in months. So the coach is sometimes there to look at all of the aspects of what you are doing and determine which are the biggest levers to pull, which ones are going to make the most difference. Because if you see the difference, when I talked about motivation and continuing, when you see the change, it's going to be a lot more motivating to continue. But if you're not seeing change, and it might just be you're working on the wrong thing. Many people think the workout is going to be the biggest lever. Your nutrition will be the biggest lever. Your sleep will be one of the biggest levers. The foundations are most important. Everything else is sprinkles. So, you know, you don't want to think, hey, I messed up. You wanna just think you have to go and you're driving. And while you're driving, Sometimes when you're using that map and you go the wrong way and it says rerouting, rerouting, and finds another way, that's how you want to look at your journey. There is no mistake. There is, huh, that happened. Maybe next time I should do things different. Rerouting. It's looking at data and then figuring out how to keep moving in the direction because you have a goal. How to keep moving because When you are putting in the effort, you want to get from point A to point B the fastest. And the way to do that, if you don't know and you've never been there before, the best way is to have someone that's done it, have someone that's shown other people how to do it, and have multiple tools in their toolbox to be able to show you. So that way you walk away from coaching with multiple tools in your toolbox. Because that is how you have control. That is how you understand how your body works because you have somebody on the outside looking in and saying, hey, this is what we did this week. This is how your body responded. This is what that means. So this is what we're going to do and this is why. Because then if you learn that process of how to do it, then you have all those tools to do it on your own. So if you are someone that feels like you have been working and working and doing all of the things and just feel stuck. You may want to consider having somebody that can give you a plan, somebody that can provide some clarity, somebody who can look at everything objectively. So you stop wasting time and energy because the time is going to pass anyway. And if you have someone showing you it's a cheat cheat, it's how you're gonna get the results. And it doesn't mean you're not gonna have mistakes along the way. A coach isn't there to shame you. The coach is there to tell you why they happen. and to reroute when you need. So I will drop our information into the show notes.
