When we asked Perla Ríos of Perla’s Magazine who she most wanted to recognize, she didn’t pick herself. She picked the DJs and karaoke hosts. Perla started Perla’s Magazine three years ago because she loves to sing. She had posted about a night at a restaurant with a karaoke host. Another host sent her his flyer and invited her to his night, and the rest followed, one by one. The name is a warning, in the best way: this won’t be a typical karaoke night. Like Mr. Data, Mr. Roboto can imitate any voice or accent, and his control of the sound is very precise.
